Set up Giftify
- Install the app from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions.
- Create a tier. Open Giftify in your admin, choose Create tier, pick a condition, set the goal and select the gift product.
- Enable the app embed. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds, turn on Giftify and save.
- Test it. Add products to your cart until you reach the goal. The gift should appear with a confirmation message.
Fix common issues
The gift isn't added to the cart
- Check that the Giftify app embed is on in your live theme, and that you saved the theme.
- Check that the tier is active, not paused, in the Giftify dashboard.
- Make sure the gift product is in stock and available on the Online Store sales channel.
- Confirm the cart really meets the condition, for example that the products belong to the selected collection.
The gift is in the cart but not free at checkout
Each tier creates a Shopify automatic discount. Go to Discounts in your Shopify admin and check that the Giftify discount is active and hasn't been edited or ended. Then check your discount combination settings, since other discounts can affect it.
The gift stays after items are removed
Giftify removes gifts when the cart changes. If a gift stays, refresh the cart page. If it still stays, your theme may use a custom cart, so email us and we'll look at it with you.
Can a shopper get more than one gift?
Yes. Each tier is checked separately, so a cart that meets several goals receives every gift it qualifies for.
Does Giftify work with my theme?
Giftify is built for Online Store 2.0 themes and runs through an app embed, so it doesn't edit your theme code. Themes with heavily customized carts may need a quick check.
How do I uninstall Giftify?
Go to Settings > Apps in your Shopify admin and uninstall Giftify. Then open Discounts and delete any Giftify discounts you no longer want. The app embed is removed from your theme automatically.
